Flags are decorative and meaning-laden textiles; and thus subject to fashion analysis.
They are nationalist branding; responsible for conveying the style and personality of an entire people.
Below are, in our opinion, some of the sleekest and most admirable of world flags:

White Skin. Black Heart. Blue Blood.
Estonia's rather chilling national flag.

Seychelles Islands. Beautiful color combos and
color play

The fierce directness of the Saudi flag; atleast in
contrast with the monochrome forest-green field of the Libyan flag.

Complex medievalism with St. Pierre.

Réunion in terse color resonance.

Mongolia: kooky design more than making up for
wonky fast-food color palette.

Marshall Islands borrowing a crisp Space-Age
aesthetic for their banner.

Gibraltar. Mildly reminiscent of a Nintendo
or Commodore 64 adventure aesthetic.

Audacious effort by Guam; having bought their territorial seal
in one of their own island souvenir shops. The only thing
missing is a surfing dinosaur.

The very cryptic, very appealing flag of Greenland.

Isle of Mann, which no doubt has a
historical and political significance
that escapes the author.

Cambodia. Clean and classic look. A
perfect flag.

Brunei, drawn and written
in a delightfully loose hand

Even in comparison to the rather intimidating
images of its Balkan neighbors, Albania hands-down
wins the award for the "world's evilest flag."
